Block Island 2008 Recap

It took us four years, three jam-packed automobiles, two cats and a one-hour ferry ride to get back to Block Island. Our trip was definitely a memorable one to say the least. It began in the wee hours of a soggy, foggy morning on July 5th and ended on a sunny, fun-filled day (at least for some of us) on July 12th. Although Taylor and I had to return home on Sunday afternoon to find the cats and secure our home (some idiots decided to break into our condo and rob us on our first night there), we managed to salvage what was left of the trip and have a good time, cats in tow (I just couldn’t leave them at home after all they’d been through).

Some of the highlights from our trip included:

Scrabble (Taylor and Scott involved in yet another heated game):

Volleyball:

Enjoying the sunsets (we did get to enjoy a couple of them):

Karaoke (The boyz showing off their respective talents):

Visiting the northern most tip of the island (that’s a Gatorade bottle in my front pocket, not my new baby fat):

And lounging around (which was the best part of the trip apart from the ice cream):

(Even Piccadilly managed to adapt to island life fairly quickly after being lost in our condo building for about 10 hours.)

I’ll add more photos of our trip to the picture gallery once I get it up and running. In the meantime, you have the highlights to hold you over!

Onto baby news…

I’m currently in my 18th week. OMG. I’m only up about five pounds (I guess I should have eaten more ice cream while on vacation!) and feeling pretty good. We find out if we’re having a little Jenn or a little Taylor in exactly a week. Yeah! As long as the baby is willing to cooperate, I’ll be posting an update and ultrasound photo next week. Stay tuned…
